YorMed provides a number of ambulance and medical services — from patient transfer to event medical cover — staffed by HCPC paramedics, nurses and first aiders.
Event Cover
YorMed has extensive experience in providing medical cover at events around the country. Whether your event has attendances of tens, hundreds or thousands, we can provide staff with skills ranging from first aiders to doctors and everything in between.
As part of our service we provide detailed medical plans and liaise with local hospitals and emergency services to satisfy any legal and licensing requirements. We are always available to provide advice and support on all aspects of our work — please contact us with any queries you may have.
Ambulance Services
YorMed has worked with many NHS hospitals, CCGs and other organisations that require ambulance services or specialist transport. Our ambulance crews are trained in manual handling and are experienced in dealing with patients with intensive support requirements.
We have a fleet of emergency ambulances and cars capable of providing transport with wheelchair and stretcher requirements, and we also operate two specialist bariatric ambulances. We can carry out transfers on both a local and long-distance basis and are flexible to provide our transport services at short notice, including out of hours.
Emergency Support
YorMed provides a range of resources to assist emergency services in delivering their primary functions effectively. The services we provide to NHS Ambulance Trusts include double-crewed ambulances to help meet stringent government targets, with crews ranging from A&E support staff through to emergency paramedic practitioners. We can also assist with the provision of Cycle Response Units in urban areas, for peak periods or to cover gaps in normal service provision.
For the policing sector, our staff can work alongside Police Officers and Community Support Staff to deal with alcohol-related injuries — from mobile units in city centres to targeted foot patrols at known hot spots — supporting local policing objectives and the tactical and strategic aims of neighbourhood policing.
